Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful - yet rather chilly - week it has been! The children at St Michael’s continue to learn, grow and shine, showing love, kindness and enthusiasm in everything they do. It truly is a joy to be part of such a special school community.

This week in collective worship, we explored the beauty of Autumn and reflected on Matthew 12:33: “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good… for a tree is recognised by its fruit.” Together, we reminded ourselves that we are like trees - when we nurture goodness within ourselves, we share that goodness with others. It was a lovely opportunity to think about how we can continue our walk with Christ by modelling the values we hope to see in the world.

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Jennifer Bailey from St Michael’s Church, who led a wonderful assembly on The Lost Coin. Her message reminded us that even when we may feel lost at times, we are always surrounded by people who care for us, who will guide us, and who will remind us just how cherished we are.

A highlight of the week was seeing 4L and our student leadership team visit St Michael’s Church to decorate one of the windows. All I can say is… wow! If you have a chance, please do stop by the church to admire the beautiful banner and nativity silhouette created by our talented pupils. A heartfelt thank you to Mr Lincoln and the parent helpers who supported this project. St Michael’s Church will be open from 3pm to 5pm this Saturday (22nd November), with window displays from a range of community groups and refreshments available.

A huge congratulations to our Stars of the Week! It is always uplifting to celebrate the achievements happening across our school, and our Friday gatherings are a wonderful reminder of the positivity and creativity shining through in every classroom.

We would also like to say a special well done to Ben and Sam for their fantastic achievements in Karate - what an inspiring example of dedication, resilience and perseverance!

In addition, we are incredibly proud of the 7th Braintree Brownies unit, who collectively wrote over 100 cards to deliver to the local community, along with pocket hugs to support vulnerable people in our area. What a beautiful and thoughtful way to demonstrate our school value of Love in action. Their kindness truly makes a difference.

“Mottlesnatch and the Flicker of Hope” continues to be a great success. Over 60 house points were awarded this week to children who took part in the newest chapter. Next week’s chapter is attached - enjoy the adventure!
